Scenic Cycling Adventure
Join the Penn Club of Chicago on a casual cycling excursion from the William Powers Recreation Area in Southeast Chicago to Whihala Beach in Whiting, Indiana! Our adventure will begin at the William Powers Recreation Area in the historic Hegewisch neighborhood and we will journey approximately 16 miles roundtrip, taking time to enjoy the sights along the way including:
- Wolf Lake
- College Mascot Hall of Fame
- Downtown Whiting, IN (with beautiful views of the Chicago skyline)
- Whihala Beach
We will build in a stop at the Whihala Ice Cream shop. Our average cycling speed will be between 10-12 miles an hour (12-14 mph rolling speed). Helmets are required for this ride.
