Nourishing Hope

The Penn Club of Chicago is seeking up to 15 volunteers to help out at Nourishing Hope’s The Hub on the north side in Wolcott Gardens on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 9am to 11:30am.

We will be helping pack Home Delivery bags/boxes with food in one of three lines: the produce line, dry goods line, or the dairy/freezer line. If needed, the shift may also include box making.

Registration:

Register as a first-time volunteer: Registration Form Link

Volunteer Details: Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes. Moderate lifting required for some volunteers.

1. I need to cancel my sign-up. You can cancel on your personal site. Just enter your first name, last name, and email address. Once you receive your personal site link, you can cancel your shift under the "Scheduled Volunteer Shifts" tab.

2. I would like to volunteer for another volunteer shift at Nourishing Hope! We would absolutely love to see you again! You can sign up on your personal site. Just enter your first name, last name, and email address. Once you receive your personal site link you can sign up under the "Volunteer Calendar" tab. (Hint: you can always reuse the personal site link that is emailed to you).

About Nourishing Hope's The Hub: A 10,000-Square-Foot Food Warehouse:

Please note that the Hub is not a walk-in food pantry. It serves as a pick-up location for our Online Market. You must register for this program to pick up food at this location.

In 2019, we took a very important step in the execution of our strategic plan — our warehouse (known affectionately as The Hub) officially opened for business. This new space not only allows our organization to expand food storage capacity and serve more of our neighbors, it also acts as the hub for all of our food distribution programs. This streamlines our operations and makes accessing food a much easier process for our neighbors in need.

The Hub provides:

- Online Market pick-up with nutritious groceries
- Social Services can be requested when picking up an Online Market order
- Storage for thousands and thousands of pounds of food rescued from local stores and farmers markets
