Your Clutter Provides Hope To Another

A donation to the Chicago Furniture Bank, founded by Wharton alumni, provides dignity, stability and comfort to Chicagoans leaving temporary shelters and moving into permanent housing with few household belongings.

The Chicago Furniture Bank is seeking volunteers:

They are looking for volunteers that can direct and unload donors' cars and sort kitchenware into complete sets. For those not able to attend the previous drives, there is a ton of work that needs to be done. At their last event, they had 400 donors and enough kitchenware for 200 families. They currently have 12 volunteers signed up and will be needing around 50. Kitchenware is a critical component of the CFB's furnishing package and these events are the main source. Please help spread the word to the community.

If you would like to volunteer, you can sign-up at

Items We Need: (please donate even if you can't volunteer)

  • Plates, Bowls, Glasses, Cups
  • Utensils
  • Pots/Pans
  • Small Appliances
  • Lamps
  • Artwork

We ask that all donated items are clean and in good condition.
