HBSCC Invites WCC For an Opportunity to Meet Two of the Leading Global Level Experts on AI and Innovation with Kellogg Professors Wolcott and Cerf

The modern definition of artificial intelligence (or AI) is "the study and design of intelligent agents" where an intelligent agent is a system that perceives its environment and takes actions which maximizes its chances of success. (Science Daily and Wikipedia).

The advances made in AI and Machine learning during the last fifteen years have reached a critical mass and many believe that we are on the cusp of a new industrial age. The impact of AI will be comparable to the invention of the steam engine, electricity and the transistor of the past.

During this event Professors Wolcott and Cerf will discuss the implications of AI both in the short term and in the next decade. There are many questions regarding the future of work, the automation of cognitive tasks in business and government, the automation of warfare and obsolescence of many military systems, the relationship of humans and machines and even what it means to be human in the Age of AI.

AI is seen as a key area of future competition between the U.S. and China and recently MIT announced the creation of the Stephan A. Schwarzman College of Computing which will focus on AI and will have a $ 1 billion endowment.

Dr. Robert Wolcott is Clinical Professor of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at the Kellogg School of Management, Co-Founder and Chairman of The World Innovation Network (TWIN) and Managing Partner of Clareo, a growth strategy and foresight consultancy. He is also an active angel investor in over 20 companies.

Dr. Moran Cerf is a Professor of neuroscience and business at the Kellogg School of Management and the neuroscience program at Northwestern University, and a member of the Institute on Complex Systems. Dr. Cerf is also the Alfred P. Sloan Professor at the American Film Institute where he teaches screenwriting and is a consultant to various Hollywood films and TV shows.
