Leadership and Personality in the Context of Business
Dr. David NieKamp, Nenni & Associates, Signature Consulting
For over 20 years Dr. David NieKamp has provided psychological services to organizations and team members. Dr. NieKamp combines corporate culture and business strategies with psychological profiling to improve the team dynamics and strengthen the overall organization. Executive leaders utilize his consultative solutions to mitigate risk, improve performance, and effectively train team members for professional growth.
At the Thursday NSIG, Dr. Niekamp will be addressing his triad team model, drawing on a classical understanding of personality structure stemming from Harvard graduate, Dr. Michael Maccoby’s work on leadership in context. According to Dr. Maccoby, true leadership is born of a correct matchup of the individual’s personality and the context in which they operate; not skill set or expertise. When personality and context are misaligned, productivity is intermittent and unsustainable. Dr. NieKamp extends the model by creating teams consisting of each personality type and helping them to interact effectively therefore minimizing the context’s potentially negative influence on sustainable productivity.
Dr. David NieKamp is a member of Nenni and Associates’ senior management team. Dr. NieKamp provides organizational design and effectiveness to Nenni and Associates’ clients. Dr. NieKamp helps companies integrate cultural changes that develop efficient and effective work culture.
He is the founder and executive director of Signature Consulting. He is an avid supporter to the Performing Arts, having earned his bachelors degree in music from Wayne State University, and has served on regional, not for profit boards. Dr. NieKamp obtained his M.A. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College, and is a licensed Psychologist.
