Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive – at home, at school and at play. They supply these items free of charge by engaging and connecting communities that have with communities.
Please join us to roll up your sleeves and help provide local children with the basic essentials they need to thrive at home, at school, and at play.
We are looking forward to seeing you on 2/24/2024 3 PM for a 1.5 hour shift. Please note that the volunteer shift will begin promptly at the start of the shift.
The Giving Factory is located at 2500 W. Bradley Place, Chicago IL 60618. The GPS will not take you directly to our section of the property. We are behind Climb Zone, Power, and the other businesses in the front of the complex. Please go all the way to the back side of the complex near Elite Baseball Training and Windy City Ninjas and look for our purple Cradles to Crayons sign. We have parking spaces in front of our building that are first come, first serve.
Following the Cradles to Crayons event, we will meet up at Burning Bush Brewery. It is close with a 6 min drive or14 min walk.

2. The Giving Factory is a warehouse environment. Volunteers are encouraged to wear closed-toed shoes and layered clothing they do not mind getting dirty. Volunteers work in stations to inspect, sort and package donations alongside other individuals and groups. Your volunteer shift will begin with an orientation led by a Cradles to Crayons staff member and end with a wrap-up and an opportunity to learn the number of children you impacted during your shift and to take group pictures. Cradles to Crayons has wheelchair accessibility and can provide reasonable accommodations for volunteers who might need it.
