The Boulevard Homeless Shelter
3456 W. Franklin Blvd., Chicago, IL 60624
Each year, thousands of men and women without homes are discharged from the hospital with nowhere to complete their medical recovery. That’s why The Boulevard exists - to help people restore their health and rebuild their lives. This is currently the only organization of its kind in Illinois and they have helped more than 7,500 people rebuild their lives. With your help they can reach so many more. Get involved and join their journey.
The Boulevard of Chicago provides high quality, cost-effective medical respite care, holistic support and housing services to help ill and injured homeless adults break the cycle of homelessness, restore their health and rebuild their lives. For additional information on this impressive organization, please visit blvd.org.
The Wharton Club of Chicago has the opportunity to be a part of The Share-A-Meal (SAM) Group Volunteer Experience which involves prepping and serving a meal for the shelter's 64 residents. Our group brings the food and prepares the meal with the guidance of the Boulevard's kitchen staff. Participants will also spend time interacting with the residents, which may also include playing board games. Wharton Club participants will also be provided a tour of the facility and a talk about the Boulevard's history and current mission.
