Join Robin Simon and Jessica Williams, both Penn alumnae and docents with the Chicago Architecture Center, for a walking tour of the Historic North Loop. With the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893, Chicago burst onto the global stage and was on its way to becoming the premier destination for architecture in the U.S. This tour is a testament to that era’s ambitions. See interiors and exteriors of buildings by Daniel Burnham, Louis Sullivan and other noted architects. Highlights include the Chicago Cultural Center, the Palmer House, Macy's/Marshall Fields and the Michigan Avenue Streetwall.
Price: $10 members / $20 Non-Members (50% of proceeds donated to the Chicago Architecture Center)
Registration: Limited to the first 30 registrants. Not recommended for children under 9 years old due to the walking involved.
Tour: 11am starting from inside the North Lobby of the Chicago Cultural Center (Randolph Street entrance)
Brunch: 12:30pm for those interested after the tour concludes. Location TBD.
Enjoy the last day of Blues Fest or the free day at the Chicago Children’s Museum too!
