We're excited to extend a special invitation to you for a unique Breaking Bread event called 10 Toasts—a structured, intimate dinner where we share thoughtful toasts on a common theme, forging new connections and deepening existing ones.
Theme: “Resilience & Reinvention”
What Is a 10 Toasts Dinner?
The 10 Toasts format, conceived by Priya Parker, author of The Art of Gathering, encourages each participant to propose a short toast on the evening’s theme. We’ll raise our glasses one by one, sharing personal reflections or stories—both heartfelt and lighthearted—that connect us to each other. This guided yet relaxed structure helps spark meaningful conversations in an intimate setting.
Why Join?
- Reconnect with fellow Wharton alumni: Enjoy quality time with a diverse group of classmates and friends.
- Engage in deeper conversations: The evening’s structure is designed to foster genuine dialogue, insight, and human connection.
- Celebrate community: We’ll reflect on our individual journeys since Wharton, while celebrating the spirit and values that unite us.
What to Expect
-
Phone Free Evening: You will be asked to turn your cell phone off when you arrive and place it in a basket. If you need to check in on your phone, you can do so away from the table.
-
Arrival & Transition: We’ll start with some time to transition from our work days into the evening—grab a drink, say hello, and settle in.
-
Shared Meal & Toasts: Over dinner, each guest will offer a toast tied to the evening’s theme, Resilience & Reinvention. Feel free to be real and be yourself—personal stories and reflections are welcomed and encouraged. We’ll create space for group reflection and questions in between each toast.
-
Open Discussion: After the toasts, we’ll continue the conversation in a relaxed, open format.
- Closing Remarks: We’ll wrap up with each person sharing a short reflection on what emerged for them during the evening.
