The Wharton Club of Chicago Brings You a Unique NEW Program to Accelerate & Optimize Executive Careers
The Wharton Club of Chicago is excited to offer a unique, new program designed to assist executives in accelerating and optimizing their careers. Based on input from alumni, many of you have stated that you would value having a trusted, confidential and affordable venue for receiving insight and guidance on addressing important career issues and challenges, as well as input on career planning and development. These forums are being graciously sponsored by Spencer Stuart, a leading global executive search firm. Forums will be held on a quarterly schedule and attendance in these 90-120 minute sessions is limited to 15-20 executives in order to allow for a high level of interaction. The session format is a combination of open Q&A, and presentations on critical career management topics.
GOAL OF FORUM
The goal of the Forum is to enable executives to achieve greater career success by properly applying their time and energy (i.e. limited resources) towards effective career management in a manner that results in more rapid advancement, enhanced earnings, and greater job satisfaction. Career complacency is a decelerator and experience indicates that 65% of success is attributable to “controllable” factors, largely related to how you manage your career. Executives who properly manage their careers achieve, conservatively, 35% greater life time earnings. The “proper” way to do things is either learned through “the school of hard knocks” or employing an executive coach at $200-$400 per hour. The forum’s goal is to help you avoid the “hard knocks” in a cost attractive manner.
Topics of discussion are focused on the needs of the participants, however, can include: personal branding, market positioning and differentiation; how to make a job transition; how to work with executive search firms; plotting a career path; effective interviewing skills; creating a compelling resume and resume critiques; aspiring to the C-suite; when and how to make industry transitions; dealing with gender challenges as a female executive; proper use of LinkedIn for job searches; how to ask for a raise/compensation negotiation; productive networking; building work relationships and influence; dealing with conflict in the workplace; what to do (and not do) when starting a new job.
We are extremely fortunate to be working with Chris Nadherny in offering you this unique quarterly career forum. During his 30 years with Spencer Stuart, Chris conducted over 700 senior level search assignments for a range of global public companies, midcap firms, and private equity portfolio businesses. He has formally interviewed and assessed literally thousands of senior executives and brings to us an invaluable understanding of how successful careers are navigated and formed.
Chris retired from Spencer Stuart in December 2015 and has rapidly become a sought after speaker and executive coach with a passion for helping others succeed. He is the author of “THE PROACTIVE EXECUTIVE: A C-Suite Recruiter’s 5-Step Plan for Achieving Greater Career Success” (October 2017).
